I'm once again at Birmingham International, where several posts on this blog have been made. I was sorry to wave goodbye to Spouse and Winks yet again, but am looking forward to a week in the South of France singing Creations. Lovely work, lovely festival and so it should be comfortable and joyous. The final edit of the Handel CD goes to print tomorrow, so that's going to be out pretty soon, and with the Mattheson also ready for the off it takes the CD releases to 3 this summer.
We've had a lovely week at home and visiting old friends. We went back to our Nottinghamshire village yesterday and reminisced a good deal about our life there.
I think Spouse is feeling reasonably on top of things despite the inevitable chaos of a department that is currently a building site. Poor Spouse, it must be stressful but our weekend of fishing will be just the thing to get really rested before term.
I plan to spend this week revising all my Czech so that I can talk to Petra more in Czech and also of course to speak to Aneta when she arrives.
More later.

Eton

What a great week at Eton... how I loved it. It was so great to get my teeth into some really concentrated teaching with good colleagues and a lot of laughs along the way. Winks stayed at Mommom and Bah, and by all accounts had a great time. Little J has been sorting out his potty action and doing really well. Now we're back home and I feel more relaxed than I have done in ages. I'm not doing very well at knuckling down to accounts and my Czech, but am eating healthily and generally feeling less chaotic than usual.
The Bear, (Hettie) was so so pleased to see us on our return. Ah, bless. We're now trying to put the house in some order, but as I said, I've got plenty of other stuff to focus on, I just don't really feel like doing it.
Will have to buy a lottery ticket next week so that I can just pay someone else to keep the books!
