Florence

Now in Florence. Flew to Milan last night and took train down to Florence this morning to rehearse this afternoon lots of Vivaldi for a concert in a theatre in Novara tomorrow night. Ages since I've been here and really nice to be back, though a little tired and looking forward to bed. Busy weekend, with J's baptism, which went well. All Godparents arrived and we had lovely service in the school chapel. Occuli Omnium was sung by a mixture of Spouse's students and our Godparents and us, and also Teddy Bears Picnic.
All the family was there which was joyous. I have never seen so much cake and so many sandwiches. Now J has gone to stay with Mommom and Bah, and E at home with nanny and Hettie, who is still weeing all over the place, but we hope she'll get it soon.
I hope tomorrow goes well. then two concerts this weekend, in Nottingham and Tunbridge Wells, and a full day of teaching on Friday, so no rest yet!
I need to find a new dress for the Wigmore which is a bit of a bore, but no doubt I'll manage to get something. I have a day waiting for a flight in Milan on Thursday, so maybe I'll see something then.

Hettie the puppy

We have a new member of the family. Hettie is our new puppy and what a dear little thingy she is. Currently lying in her bed in the kitchen, for the first time since arrival choosing her bed rather than to be with us, so that's probably a good sign. Chaos with the winks though. Just when you manage to get the puppy outside, the winks linger inside so puppy comes back and then winks are suddenly outside again. Feel like a field marshall most of the day.
J's big day on Saturday with his baptism. Poor chaplain will certainly get soaked. Looking forward to it though also slight dread at thought of 50 guests in the house. Plus puppy and winks. Ug.
